About Us

On this website, students of S.N. Bose Center, Kolkata with an interest in High Energy Physics, exchange ideas, news of special events and independently prepared notes related to their exploration of the frontiers of scientific knowledge. Visitors outside the membership of the discussion group, within and from beyond the institute campus can also browse their work and activity, and even get in contact with the members.

Members of the High Energy Physics discussion group have agreed to collectively author any notes and material with the contributions of willing participants. The various topics will include:

  • Mathematical Physics
  • Gravitational Physics
  • Quantum Mechanics
  • Quantum Field Theory

This collective process enriches any material published on the literature page to prove helpful to future students during their forays into the unknown regions of science.

We hold meetings weekly, to discuss new topics of interest normally not covered in the classroom syllabus. Such meetings usually on Wednesdays, unless otherwise indicated on the schedule timetable at a unanimously chosen location. Since we have agreed to collectively author all note material, It may take time to update the literature section with the notes pertaining to the topic discussed at any particular meeting.

History of the forum

The S.N. Bose High Energy Physics discussion group was formed in 2013, with the intent to broaden exposure and share understanding of obscure scientific material usually not touched in a classroom syllabus. The members wished to further improve organisation of activities and add other accessories that would aid them in this endeavor. One such accessory desired was a website or an online forum through which they could advertise their work to the world.

To this end, work was started on this site by Sumanto Chanda on 27th December, 2013. Several modifications are expected to be underway before the site is deemed sufficiently ready to be handed over to a unanimously chosen administrator.

Our users

The official users of this site are the members who use it to advertise their activity and work to the scientific world beyond the institute campus. Visitors outside membership may browse their work and monitor event schedules, but will be unable to publish their material on the literature without the express permission of the administrator. To contact the administrator, go to the page "OUR TEAM" to see contact details available.
